Rigid Doromer PU Foams — D Series

Rigid Doromer PU Foams — D Series

Product Description

rigid doromeric PU foam from the D series for manufacturing precise, lightweight, and durable parts with a strong shell and high-quality finish.

Doromeric foams are characterized by a dense and rigid outer skin (the surface replicates the mold) while the core remains foamed and lightweight. — winning combination: low weight, high mechanical strength, and simple molds. — design flexibility: design and manufacturing of thick or thin products across diverse applications. — sandwich structure: low-density rigid foam core surrounded by a compressed outer skin. — durability: exceptional strength-to-weight ratio.

Doromeric foams are characterized by a dense and rigid outer skin (the surface replicates the mold) while the core remains foamed and lightweight. Thanks to the combination of low weight, high mechanical strength, and simple molds, they enable the design and manufacturing of precise products across diverse applications, alongside exceptional durability.

Morphological Structure

Part manufacturing is performed in a single casting process, where the density distribution occurs spontaneously due to the chemical design of the system. This results in a sandwich structure: a low-density rigid foam core surrounded by a compressed outer skin. The thickness of the outer layer can be adjusted and customized according to the system type.

Technical and Manufacturing Advantages

precision and thickness — suitable for manufacturing products starting from 2 mm thickness. — weight range — casting capabilities from 5 grams to 100 kg. — production costs — use of relatively inexpensive molds requiring low working pressure. — durability — excellent creep resistance, weather resistance, and long lifespan without changes to the foam construction. — chemical resistance — excellent resistance to various organic and inorganic materials. — integration with casting inserts — during the casting process, inserts from other materials can be integrated, such as casting onto a metal, plastic, or wood skeleton. During polymerization, the polyurethane bonds chemically and mechanically, achieving an efficient, economical, and rapid process.

Processing and Finish

Parts manufactured from the D series excel in unlimited design possibilities and are suitable for secondary processing: — mechanical — sawing, tapping, and bonding. — aesthetic — coating and painting, including in-mold coating (applying paint to the mold during production) and coloring the material to the desired shade.
